Polyamide 12-strand braided rope

Category:

Polyamide ropes consist of polyamide fibers formed from melts and solutions of polyamides.

A distinctive feature of polyamide ropes is their high ability to withstand shock loads, these ropes are able to stretch for 1/4 of the total length, they have excellent strength and very good wear resistance. It is used in shipping, fishing for the manufacture of fishing gear, in construction during lifting and installation works, cargo transportation, towing vehicles.

Braided construction of ropes, ropes and cords is more resistant to abrasion than twisted construction. The wear resistance of wicker products is two to three times higher than that of twisted ones. At the same time, ropes and ropes of through weaving (in which all the elements involved in the last stage of product formation are intertwined) are more stable than twisted ones not only with gradual abrasion, but also in case of local damage. This is due to the mutual clamping of the strands during interweaving.

The disadvantages of polyamide ropes include heavy weight (they sink in water), the ability to absorb moisture (hygroscopicity), low resistance to organic acids, reduced strength when wet, and the ability to accumulate static electricity (it is not desirable to use on ships of the tanker fleet). Specific gravity-1.14 (sink in water), melting point-220 C.
