Polyamide ropes are made of polyamide fiber which is produced from polyamide melts and solutions. Their distinctive features are high resistance to impact load, excellent durability, great wear resistance and ability to stretch to one-fourth of the total length. Polyamide ropes are used in shipping, fishing (production of fishing gear), construction (lifting operations and installation works), cargo transportation, vehicle towage. In addition, these ropes are widely used in interior design due to its eye-catching appearance.
Some disadvantages of polyamide ropes are big weight (drown in water), hygroscopicity, low resistance to organic acids, reduced strength when wet, accumulation of static electricity (it is not recommended to use such ropes on the tanker fleet ships).
Specific gravity – 1,14 (drown in water), melting point – 220 C.
