Polysteel is highly durable polyolefin-based material: 75% polypropylene, 25% high-pressure polyethylene.it has excellent durability and abrasion-resistance. Standard polysteel is extremely resistant to UV-radiation. Our ropes are made of light-stabilized highly durable polysteel.
Plaited rope construction is more abrasion-resistant than twisted rope construction and its wear resistance is twice as high as twisted one’s. Interlock braid construction (when all the elements are woven together) is more resistant to abrasion and local damages than twisted rope construction too. This is due to the mutual clamping weaving.
Such ropes are usually used for shipping (mooring, towing), construction (lifting and installation works, cargo transportation. Because of such characteristics this rope is widely used for fishing, production of fishing gear (trawls, cages etc.)
Some advantages: light weight, low hygroscopicity (does not drown), high resistance to organic acids and alkalis, high breaking load in comparison to polypropylene ropes.
Specific gravity – 0,91 (do not drown), melting point – 165 C, elongation at break – 18%.
